what has been bugging me the most is that all these countries which are majorly populated by black people get represented by the whitest of white women. Puerto Rico, Colombia,.. like seriously???

I literally was thinking that when i turned to it. I was watching the swimsuit part and i seen miss brazil, i literally said “Okay, but why does she look like a white woman..” it was so many i lost count..

The Latin community is taught that dark skin is ugly and light skin is beautiful. We praise mothers whos children come out light skinned with colored eyes. Yet throw negative comments on anyone who has dark / brown skin and dark eyes. Don’t even get me started on the comments on hair. Anyone who Denies this colorism issue we have within us Latinx is a damn liar.

The study also found that sharing neighborhoods with Blacks reinforced Latino’s negatives views, and reinforces their feelings that they have “more in common with Whites” — although Whites did not feel the same connection towards the Latinos.”
